Colts will not retain RB coach Huey

The Colts announced Tuesday that they will not bring back running backs coach Gene Huey. He had been with the Colts since 1992.

"I thank Gene Huey for the work he has done for the club for many seasons," said head coach Jim Caldwell. "During his time, Gene played a key role with many players both on and off the field, and he was a part of coaching staffs that helped create a very special time in franchise history. I thank him for his contributions and wish him continued success."

The way we see it

The Colts struggled on the ground, in large part because of injuries to running backs. They finished the season 29th in the league in rushing yards per game. Donald Brown led the team with 497 rushing yards, while Joseph Addai rushed for 495 yards. The lack of a run game put added pressure on QB Peyton Manning, who didn't have his full arsenal of receivers.
