Report: Titans give GM Reinfeldt new contract

Titans GM Mike Reinfeldt has received a contract extension that will keep him in his role through 2014, according to PFW correspondent Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean.

Reinfeldt's current deal was supposed to expire this year, but the GM has been given a contract extension by owner Bud Adams, according to sources, though team officials have refused to confirm or discuss the deal.

Reinfeldt is the franchise's most influential decision maker now that longtime head coach Jeff Fisher is no longer with the club. New head coach Mike Munchak will have an input on the draft and free agency, as well, but Reinfeldt will make the final calls on personnel decisions.

"My job is to listen to everybody and decide what makes the most sense,'' Reinfeldt said in an interview with the newspaper. "It's more the body of evidence, if you will, the weight of the information. And that's the way it should work."

The way we see it

The Titans are expected to struggle in 2011 following the departure of Fisher and QB Vince Young. Reinfeldt has a big job in front of him, though thankfully for him, job security won't be something he has to worry about.
