Titans interview Heimerdinger

The Titans interviewed offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger on Tuesday for their vacant head-coaching position, one day after interviewing O-line coach Mike Munchak. The team parted ways with Jeff Fisher after 17 seasons.

Heimerdinger, who was diagnosed with cancer in November, did not miss a game while privately going through chemotherapy.

Heimerdinger just finished the third year of his second stint as the team's offensive coordinator. He also ran the offense from 2000-2004.

NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reported that the team will interview Cowboys wide receivers coach Ray Sherman later in the week. Interviewing Sherman will satisfy the league's Rooney Rule.

The way we see it

All signs still point to Munchak being the team's next head coach. Owner Bud Adams is staying in-house, as either Munchak or Heimerdinger will likely keep most of the current staff.
