When the Chiefs pick at No. 21 overall in April's draft, it would make sense that they would be looking at offensive tackle, a position at which they appear to be thin. Kansas City brass might not share that opinion, however. The way we hear it, the Chiefs actually feel comfortable with their current situation at tackle. That includes ORT Barry Richardson, who started all 16 games in 2010 but did not excel by most standards. We hear K.C. doesn't believe that Richardson is a major weakness up front, so they instead are likely to put their focus elsewhere in Round One, such as beefing up the interior of the O-line or bolstering the receiving corps. Also, in GM Scott Pioli's time with the Patriots and now Chiefs, he largely has ignored the offensive tackle spot in the draft and never has taken one in the first round. With this year's OT class mostly underwhelming and the better values coming in the later rounds, Pioli is unlikely to waver from this strategy.
