A Chicago Tribune report says that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell joined a small group of owners in a western suburb of Chicago Tuesday and Wednesday, presumably to discuss the labor dispute.
With a hearing looming Friday in front of the U.S. Eighth Circuit Court in St. Louis, it's likely that the owners and commissioner were meeting to discuss strategy.
A week after the owners' meetings in Indianapolis had ended, this smaller group of owners flew into DuPage Airport, a small airport about 40 miles west of downtown Chicago. The Tribune reports that Patriots owner Robert Kraft was seen departing from the airport on Wednesday afternoon. Also seen was the plane of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. And the paper says that Panthers owner Jerry Richardson was also believed to be present.
It is not known if any representatives of the NFL Players' Association were present.
