Jaguars rookie Prosinski will be in the mix at safety

Jaguars rookie S Chris Prosinski, a fourth-round selection out of Wyoming, knows he will have plenty of catching up to do once the lockout is lifted.

Other than a few phone conversations, Prosinski still has not met his new teammates, nor has he acquired a playbook.

Nonetheless, the 24-year-old is confident he can get up to speed quickly. He recently told PFW he has spent the offseason in his hometown of Buffalo, Wyo., working out as often as possible and trying to "keep as much structure as I can on a day-to-day basis."

The good news for Prosinski is that he is well versed at both safety spots, as the positions were interchangeable at Wyoming. Furthermore, there will be a wide-open competition for playing time once camp finally opens.

The Jaguars are expected to sign a veteran in free agency, but incumbent starters Courtney Greene and Don Carey are far from having a stranglehold on their positions.
