Jets WR Cotchery played with herniated disc

Jets WR Jerricho Cotchery told ESPNNewYork.com that he played the 2010 season with a herniated disc and underwent back surgery on Feb. 3.

"It wasn't a good feeling," Cotchery said. "It was pretty painful. I wouldn't want any football player to have to go through that."

Because of the lockout, Cotchery is not allowed inside the Jets' facility, nor can he speak with Jets trainers. He told ESPNNewYork that his rehab is going well and he expects to start running in 3-4 weeks.

Cotchery lost his starting job to Santonio Holmes during the season. The eighth-year veteran had 41 catches for 433 yards and two touchdowns in 2010.
