Lions' Schwartz has confidence in Stafford's rehab

While attending the University of Georgia pro day, Lions QB Matthew Stafford said his surgically repaired shoulder is healing well.

The 2009 No. 1 overall pick had surgery on his right (throwing) shoulder in January. Stafford told NFL.com's Steve Wyche that he is rehabilitating with therapists from Dr. James Andrews' office.

Lions head coach Jim Schwartz told reporters at the owners meeting in New Orleans that the team doesn't anticipate any more difficulties for Stafford. "Everyone is pleased with his rehab," Schwartz said.

Stafford played in just three games in 2010.

"I've heard a lot of people talk about young quarterbacks and the potential of missing offseason workouts and how it sets them back in their development," Schwartz said. "I know enough about Matt to know we're not really talking about that. ... He's dealing with the ability to be on the field, and we have full confidence that he is going to get that behind him."
