According to reports, Illinois DL Corey Liuget will continue the parade of Fighting Illini leaving for the NFL draft and forgo his final year of eligibility. LB Martez Wilson and RB Mikel Leshoure have declared for the NFL draft within the last two days.
Liuget recorded 63 tackles and 4½ sacks in 2010. Liuget, a second-team All-Big Ten selection in '10, had a breakout campaign this year. Liuget recorded 61 tackles between 2008 and 2009.
The way we see it
Liuget is a quick, penetrating three-technique who could wreak havoc in a 4-3 system. PFW draft analyst Nolan Nawrocki projects Liuget as a mid-to-late first-round pick who could be a great fit for a team like the Bears or Colts.
