Here is a look at how Saturday's Saints-Seahawks wild-card game could unfold from a fantasy perspective:
When the Saints have the ball: As one of the league's best passing attacks, the Saints' offense revolves around QB Drew Brees, who sputtered a bit down the stretch but still finished with 33 TD tosses. Going against a Seattle secondary that gave up 31 scores through the air and which he torched for 382 yards, four TDs and two INTs in Week 11, he should have a huge day. His favorite target, WR Marques Colston, underwent arthroscopic knee surgery last week and likely will be questionable for this contest. While he had 8-113-2 vs. the Seahawks last time, he might not be a major factor. Lance Moore also had two TDs against Seattle (and a team-high eight on the year) and will be a steady option for Brees, while Robert Meachem is a boom-or-bust wideout who could snag a deep ball or two. TE Jimmy Graham has been a major red-zone weapon lately, catching four TDs in his last three games. Don't be shocked if he finds paydirt on Saturday. With RBs Chris Ivory and Pierre Thomas on I.R., Reggie Bush and Julius Jones are likely to handle the backfield workload. Bush has done little this season but re-emerged with 125 scrimmage yards last week and could break off a couple of big plays as both a runner and receiver. Jones should see most of the between-the-tackles work and should churn out decent yardage.
When the Seahawks have the ball: Although Matt Hasselbeck sat out Week 17 with a hip injury, he will get the start against New Orleans in place of Charlie Whitehurst. Hasselbeck threw for 366 yards and a TD in Week 11 at New Orleans, but don't expect much out of him against the league's No. 4 pass "D." The Seahawks will try to run their offense through RB Marshawn Lynch vs. a defense that gave up 13 rushing TDs. However, Lynch struggled vs. the Saints last time and hasn't reached 90 yards in a Seattle uniform. Justin Forsett will be the change-of-pace back. Through the air, WR Mike Williams is the go-to guy, but he hasn't been consistent. He did have 6-109-0 at New Orleans, though, and is the team's best bet to score. A bunch of other receivers will see time, as well, but Ben Obomanu is the only one who could make an impact; he had 5-87-1 in Week 11.
